Vernon Charles Burris

Mr. Vernon C. Burris, 74, of Biloxi, MS, died Sunday, May 21, 2006, in Gulfport. Mr. Burris was a native of Pontiac, Michigan and had been a resident of Biloxi since 1999. He taught school in Pontiac, MI and Port Charlotte, FL where he retired. He attended Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Mr. Burris was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick W. and Lois Elma Wright Burris and a son, Roger Burris. Survivors incude his wife, Dorothy Burris of Biloxi, a daughter, Janet Burris of Port St. Lucie, FL; his step-daughter, Marilyn Daniel of Madison, AL; his step-son, Keith Lahm of Biloxi, and one sister, Helen Gravelin of Port Charlotte, FL. A memorial service is planned for a later date. The Pass Road Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi is in charge of arrangements.
