Vernon G. St. Martin, 89, Pass Christian, formerly of Biloxi, MS died Thursday, October 13, 2011 in Biloxi, MS.
He was born in Lady Smith, WS, the youngest of 14 siblings. He was a US Army Veteran of the WWII, served as a surgical technician with General Chenaults 14th Air Force "Flying Tigers". He was awarded the "Bronze Star" for Gallentry in Action, he fought as a Bantar Weight Boxer during his military career. After his militiary service he earned his "Doctor of Chiropractic Degree from Palmer Chiropractic College in Davenport, IA. He had clinics in Shreveport, LA, Ocean Springs and Biloxi, MS. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Kiwanas Club, Disabled American Veterans, American Legion, former President of MS Gulf Coast Chiropractors Association, and a member of Nativity B.V.M. Catholic Church.
He is preceded in death by his son, Kerry Glen St. Martin and his parents, Lilian and Willard St. Martin.
He is survived by two daughters, Nancy St. Martin Womack and Rita Strickland, former wife Dolores Cano St. Martin, Thirteen grandchildren and twenty one great grandchildren, and numerous neices and nephews.
Visitation will be on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe from 4:00 p.m. unitl 6:00 p.m. There will be a graveside service on Monday, October 17, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. at Biloxi National Cemetery with military honors.
