Vernon "Vern" Peyregne

Vernon Neil “Vern” Peyregne, 87, of Ocean Springs, MS passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 in Ocean Springs.

Vern was born in Bayou La Batre, AL. He lived his whole life to provide for his family until his last breath. His ministry and sharing the Word of God with others made his life complete. Vern was an ordained minister and would share the Word of God with anyone having a need. He came from a family of shrimpers and loved seafood and Popeye’s chicken. Through his sales experience, he was instrumental in the introduction of Hubig’s Pies to the coast. He also had a love for music and dancing. He will be missed more than words can express.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Genevieve C. Hinkel Peyregne; his daughters, Gina G. Bodin and Angela M. Villines; and his brother, Felix S. Peyregne, Jr.

Vern’s survivors include his daughters, Debbie L. Lagarde, Marci J. Pringle and Amy L. Guidry; his son, David N. Peyregne; his brother, Hale Peyregne; 17 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home on Porter Avenue in Ocean Springs on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at 11:00 am. Friends may visit from 9:00 am until service time. Interment will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park.
