Victor Boyd Pringle, Jr., 70, of Biloxi died Sunday, May 24, 2009 in Ocean Springs. Victor was born on June 12, 1938 to Victor and Margaret Pringle. During his childhood and early adulthood, Victor enjoyed sailing the Biloxi Bay. After graduating from Biloxi High School in 1956, he attended Washington & Lee University. After two years, he transferred to the University of Mississippi, Oxford, MS and graduated in May 1963 with his Bachelors in Business and his Juris Doctorate. He was admitted by the Mississippi Bar to practice law in 1963. During his time at the Univeristy of Mississippi he was an active member of Phi Delta Theta. After graduating, Victor worked with the Internal Revenue Service - Estate Department and later with the Mississippi Bank and Trust Company - where he was Vice President, Senior Trust Officer and Trust Department Head. During the years 1966 - 1969, Victor served in the Air National Guard, 173rd Air Base Squadron where he attained the rank of S/SGT (E-5). In 1972, Victor moved back to Biloxi and took over his father's law practice where he practiced until his death. He was one of the founding organizers of the Jefferson Bank in Biloxi, and served on the Advisory Board for Jefferson Bank, Southtrust Bank, Wachovia Bank and now Wells Fargo and was past Secretary to the Board. Victor was an active member of several professional organizations which include American Bar Association, Mississippi State Bar Association, Harrison County Bar Association (Past President), Biloxi Bar Association, Board of Director with South Trust Bank of South Mississippi, Mississippi Bar Foundation, Board of Directors with South Mississippi Legal Services and Board of Directors with Mississippi Legal Services. Victor was a member and past chairman of the Salvation Army Advisory Board in Biloxi, a member and past President of Biloxi Businessmen's Club, Past Board Member of the Chamber of Commerce in Biloxi. He was also the past King of Les Masques, member of Mithras, Master Barrister of American Inns Court, an avid sailor at the Biloxi Yacht Club, and past City of Biloxi Court Judge. Victor is preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Margaret Pringle, and his sister, Margaret Flowers. Survivors include his longtime friend and confidant, Catherine Carroll, his aunt, Madlyn Woodley of Greatbridge, VA, a niece, Vivian Martin of Atlanta, GA, and nephews, Victor Flowers of San Francisco, CA, and Walter Flowers III of Tuscaloosa, AL and a host of cousins. The family would like to thank Hospice of Light for their support. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Salvation Army of Biloxi, Mississippi. Memorial Service will be Thursday, May 28, 2009, 6:00 pm at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes where friends may visit from 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm.
