Virginia Ann Burkhalter McCool

Virginia “Gina” Ann Burkhalter McCool, age 65, of Gulfport, MS passed away on Monday, June 24, 2024.

Gina was born on May 1, 1959 in Lucedale, MS to Kyle Burkhalter and Selma Barske. She attended Forrest County Agricultural High School (Class of 1977) and earned her Bachelor's Degree in Journalism and Mass Communication at University of Southern Mississippi (Class of 1981). Gina worked as a Unit Secretary at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS for 20+ Years. She loved reading and cooking and was a talented singer and pianist. She enjoyed taking long naps and watching soap operas.

Gina was preceded in death by her father, Kyle Burkhalter, and most recently her beloved mother, Selma Barske.

Left to cherish her memory include her children, Mandy McCool and John (Lauren) McCool III; grandchildren, Matilda McCool and John McCool IV; sibling, Terry Burkhalter; special cousins, Bonnie, Mark, and Steven Butler; and by her little dog, Bear.
