Virginia Maye Nichols-Byrne, 82, of Biloxi, was born April 30, 1930 in Lexington, Tennessee and went home to our Lord July 21, 2012.
Virginia was a member of the Lighthouse Church of God but also recently enjoyed the fellowship of the Middle Cross Baptist Church. Her life was dedicated to loving her family and the many friends who came to know and love her. Her love knew no bounds as she became “Mom” and “Grandma” to those who came into her life.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Margaret Evelyn Rhodes-Nichols and William Edward Nichols, a daughter, Sandra VanAcker-Roberts, a grandson, Gregory James VanAcker, Six Brothers and Five Sisters.
She is survived by James R. Byrne, Sr. her loving husband of 62 years. Together they have been residents of Biloxi, MS since 1950. She is also survived by one sister, Nina Marie Nichols-Fiddler, a son James R. Byrne, Jr. (Karen), two daughters Janice R. Jackson (Wayne), and Stacie L. Smith (Brandon), grandsons Duane VanAcker, Scott Jackson, Dustin Jackson, Brendan Ferrer, Michael Smith and Blayton Smith; grand-daughter Marianne Slaughter; and fourteen Great-Grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 27, 2012 at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 12:00 p.m. Entombment will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park.
