Mr. Wade Jackson Vick, 71, of Ethridge, Tennessee, died Saturday, July 30, 2005, at Maury Regional Hospital in Columbis, TN.
Mr. Vick was a native of Russellville, Kentucky, but had lived most of his life in Giles County. He was retired from the U. S. Air Force as a Master Sergeant. Mr. Vick attended First Baptist Church in Pulaski, Tennessee. He served many years in the field of law enforcement as a deputy and lieutenant with the Giles County Sheriff's Department. He also worked as a police officer with the Pulaski Police Department, as a court officer with the Giles County Court House, and most recently, as grand jury foreman with the Giles County Court System.
Mr. Vick was preceded in death by his daughter, Gloria J. Rojas and his parents, Porter and Mabel Vick.
Survivors include his wife, Hermine "Daisy" Vick, of Ethridge; threesons, Wade J. Vick, Jr. of Ocean Springs, Wayne Joseph Vick of Springfield, VA and Wesley Jordan Vick of Pulaski; six daughters, Mary Francis Shwartz of Ethridge, Lavon Kay Pitello of Biloxi, Debra L. Wickliffe of Dayton, OH, Karen Jean Shepherd of Springfield, OH, Wanda J. Risner of Ethridge and Annette K. Jennings of Summertown, TN; one brother, Paul Richard Vick of Ocean Springs; one sister, Mary Vick Currie, of Sedona, AZ; twentytwo grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
Services for Mr. Vick will be Tuesday, August 21, 2005, at 2 p.m. at Carr & Erwin Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday, August 1, 2005 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Vick will then be carried to the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi, MS for a visitation on Thursday, August 4, 2005, from 10 a.m. till 1 p.m. Graveside services will follow at 2 p.m. at Southern Memorial Park.
