Wallace "Wally" Page

Mr. Wallace E. "Wally" Page, age 74, of Ocean Springs, MS., went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 15, 2008. He was a resident of Ocean Springs since 1971. He was a retired Chief Master Sergeant, retiring after 20 years of service with the US Air Force. After serving our country for twenty years, he chose to pursue a career in real estate. He started out as a salesman, then moved on to property/sales manager with a large local firm. In 1975 he opened his own real estate firm in Ocean Springs. He was an active member of the Biloxi/Ocean Springs Board of REALTORS. In 1975, he served untold hours to assure that the forming of the Gulf Coast Multiple Listing Service was installed and put into place successfully. When the Gulf Coast and Biloxi/Ocean Springs Boards voted to merge their Multiple Listing Service, he was a strong contributing element to work to assure that the transition took place with few flaws. Since then, he has served on the MLS Board. He has also served as a director of the Biloxi/Ocean Springs Board of REALTORS where he also went on to be elected as President in 1979, 1996, and 2007. He received the REALTOR of the year award in 1979 and in 1990 he also received the Martha Helm award for his contributions of dedication and diligent service to the Board. He also served on the state professional standards committee. He served as Biloxi-Ocean Springs Association of Realtors' President for the year 2007. He has served on the City of Ocean Springs Civil Service Commission for sixteen years. He was also a member of the BPOE #21 Elks Lodge. Mr. Page was an avid fisherman and followed Ocean Springs Athletics. He attended Lemoyne Baptist Church in St. Martin. Mr. Page was preceded in death by his mother, Earline Hunter and stepfather, Jake T. Hunter, grandson, Richard Joseph "Joey" Chinn, Jr., great-granddaughter, Kaitlin Reese Page, sister, Claudine Page and brothers, Louie D. Page, Louie V. Page and Leathean Page. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Louise Page, daughters, Debbie (Randall) Romero, Kathy (Micheal) Hammack, sons, Wally (Dana) Page, Jr., and Tommy (Roxann) Page, all of Ocean Springs, MS., brothers, Joe L. Paige of Baton Rouge, LA. and Darvell L. (Hawk Eye) Paige of Boise, Idaho, grandchildren, Jason Page, Jeff Page, Jake Page, Mikie Hammack, II, Nikki Hammack, Melanie Krohn and Tanya Shock, and great-grandchildren, Mattie Page, Carley Page, Isaiah Page, and Kyleigh Krohn. Visitation will be on Thursday, April 17, 2008, from 5-8 PM, at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. On Friday, April 18, 2008, there will be a 9:30 AM chapel service in the funeral home, where friends may visit from 8:30 - 9:30 AM. Burial will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations be made to the Ocean Springs Athletic Foundation, P.O. Box 1188, Ocean Springs, MS., 39566.
