Walter Russell Sharkey

Walter Russell Sharkey, 46, of Biloxi, MS died on Thursday, April 8, 2010. In 2005, Walter came to Biloxi to assist our city in the recovery process from Hurricane Katrina. He was known as "Sarge" to the homeless/street community of Biloxi where he remained until his death. Sarge, you were a generous soul, true to your faith, and an honorable man who served his country. You are sadly missed by your family and your many friends here in Biloxi; however, we rejoice in the knowledge that you are "home at last". A memorial for Sarge will be held at Back Bay Mission's Micah Center, 1012 Division St. on Friday, April 23, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Biloxi was in charge of arrangements.
