Wanda Marie Fremin

Wanda M. Fremin, age 82, passed away on December 19, 2007, at her home in Ocean Springs. Originally from Naples, Italy, Mrs. Fremin married her husband of 49 years, Ralph, in Italy after World War II and then came to Biloxi in 1946. Soon afterward they made their home in Ocean Springs where they raised their family. Wanda was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church where she also served as the school cafeteria manager for over 20 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many and will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph M. Fremin, a son, Lloyd Fremin, and her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Oscar DeMauro. Survivors include three sons Jerry Fremin and wife Fran, Mike Fremin and wife Debbie, and Donnie Fremin and wife Deborah, all of Ocean Springs; a sister, Noris DeMauro, a brother, Licio DeMauro and his wife Sylvia and a nephew, Oscar DeMauro, all of Naples, Italy; eight grandchildren, Jason, Michael and Justin Fremin of Ocean Springs, Jerry Fremin and his wife Ashley and Lauren Fremin of Starkville, MS, Lance Fremin of Lake Charles, LA. Megan Fremin of Biloxi MS. and Ashley Bateman of Ocean Springs. The family would like to say thanks to the many friends who offered gifts of food, prayer and comfort to mom throughout her illness. Special thanks to Trinity Hospice and Juno Montgomery of Nursing Management for the care they provided. Most of all, we want to extend our deepest gratitude to mom's primary caregivers, Mary Thompson, Lakeitha Whittle and especially Ms. Traci Stevens. Traci, there is no way we can ever repay you for the loving way you cared for our mother. You have been with us from the beginning and never waivered in your dedication to her, as if she were your own. You are now a member of our family. Visitation will be Saturday, December 22, 2007, where friends may call from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Ocean Springs. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow immediately after visitation. Burial will be Monday, December 24, 2007, at 9:00 a.m. at Biloxi National Cemetery. The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes is in charge. The family prefers donations to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, 502 Jackson Avenue, Ocean Springs, MS 39564 or St. Alphonsus Catholic School.
