Wayne Sutton Alliston, Jr.

Wayne Sutton Alliston, Jr., 75, of Ocean Springs, MS, peacefully passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2015 in Ocean Springs, after a brave battle with ALS. Mr. Alliston was born in Jackson, MS, grew up in Bay St. Louis and was a resident of Ocean Springs for the past 46 years. He graduated from Bay High School in 1957 and from USM in 1961. Mr. Alliston was an avid hunter, fisherman and he loved to play golf. He retired from the insurance business after 30 years. Mr. Alliston adored his 3 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Wayne, Sr. and Eugenia Alliston. Mr. Alliston’s survivors include his beloved wife of 53 years, Janell Alliston of Ocean Springs; his daughter, Amy (Miguel) Leon of Biloxi; his son, Jeff (Yvette) Alliston of Katy, TX; his sister, Katherine Cox of Redding, CA; his brother, Woods Alliston of Bay St. Louis; and his grandchildren, Jeffrey and Liam Alliston and Vallie Leon. In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations be made to the ALS Association at www.alsa.org or to St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in his name, 502 Jackson Ave., Ocean Springs, MS 39564. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at 10:00 am. Friends may visit from 9:30 am until mass time. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories in Bay St. Louis. The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
