Wayne Arden Litzinger

Wayne Arden Litzinger, age 67 died at his Gulfport home on Saturday, April 22, 2006 after a lenghty battle with Hirschsprung's disease. He was born April 7, 1939 in Uniontown, PA and moved to Mississippi in 1983. Mr. Litzinger was preceded in death by his mother Anna Mae Cone and his father Clyde Litzinger He is survived by his wife of over 41 years, Sandra Cropp Litzinger, their daughter and son-in-law, Lee Ann and Johnny Joe of Starkville, MS, and his step-father, Seth A. Cone, of Long Beach, MS. He was a graduate of Vale Technical Institute of Blairsville, PA. He was Elder Emeritus of First Presbyterian Church of Gulfport, MS where he served for many years as Sunday School Superintendent. He was Voted Man of the Year by the Long Beach Rotary Club and served as President of the Long Beach Chamber of Commerce. He was retired from Harrison County Purchasing Department where he was a senior claims examiner. He was a member of Mississippi Coast Mustang Club. The family will receive friends at the Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home on O'Neal Road in Orange Grove on Monday, April 24 from 12:00 noon until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m. His pastor, Rev. Guy M. Richard will officate at the memorial service. The family would welcome memorial contributions to the Church Building Fund to aid the rebuilding of a church facility for the First Presbyterian Church of Gulfport. Contributions, so marked, may be sent to the church at PO Box 6012, Gulfport, MS 39506. Mr. Litzinger will be laid to rest in the family plot at Sylvan Heights Cemetery in Uniontown, PA.
