Whitney J. “Stinkey” Carvin, Jr.,age 67, died Saturday, March 21, in Gulfport. He was a loving husband, father and “Pop Pop” who was adored by his grandchildren.
He was a dedicated law enforcement officer for over 30 years. After retiring from the Gulfport Police Department he enjoyed his days fishing, sharing stories with his buddies, and spending time with his family.
“Stinkey”, an endearing nickname from childhood, never met a stranger. He loved chatting, telling stories, and his passion was fishing.
He is survived by his wife of twelve years, Penny Webb Carvin of Biloxi; a daughter, Robyn Gavagnie of Waveland; a step-daughter, Kellie Baker Hall of Watkinsville, GA; a son, Justin Carvin of Waveland; a step-son, Chris Baker of Elkton, MD; a sister, Kellie Carvin Anderson of Waveland; and nine grandchildren.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday, March 28, 2015 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport.
