Mr. Willard (Bill) Misner, age 94, of Ocean Springs, MS., died Tuesday, May 5, 2009, at Pine Meadows in Hattiesburg, MS.
Mr. Misner was a retired Master Sergeant with 24 years of service in the military. He served in the Navy during WWll and in the Air Force in the Korean War. During active duty, he was stationed in Alaska, Panama, Colorado, Japan, Georgia, Texas and Mississippi. He retired from Keesler Air Force Base in 1968. He then began a second career as a tennis pro followed by four years at Twin Lakes Camp as caretaker. After fully retiring, Mr. Misner and his wife Jean, spent 10 years traveling the country in their RV. Mr. Misner was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Biloxi.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Jean, of Ocean Springs, MS., sons, Jim and Sharon of Atlanta, GA., and David and Jennifer of Brookhaven, MS., six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
On Friday, May 8, 2009, there will be a 10 AM graveside service at the Biloxi National Cemetery.
The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
