William “Bill” Hatch Sanford, Jr., age 71, of Gulfport, Mississippi, passed into heaven on March 23, 2023.
William was born to William and Dorothy Sanford on March 6, 1952, in New Orleans, Louisiana. As a small child, his parents moved him to the Mississippi Gulf Coast, but he always loved NOLA. William graduated from Gulfport East High in 1971. He went on to receive an Associates of Art at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.
In 1973, William married his loving wife, Debra (Stuart). William and Debra went on to have five children – Jennifer (Josh) of Georgia, Jessica (Michael) of South Carolina, Jason (Brittany) of Mississippi, Jordan (Samantha) of Nebraska, and Justin of Mississippi. He had six grandchildren that knew him lovingly as Papa Bill – Chloe, Joshua, Madelyn, Tobey, Mason, and Taylor. William is also survived by his sister, Sandy, along with several cousins and many dear friends all over the world.
He was a wild child, a rebel with a cause, an artist, and a theologian. He loved to ride motorcycles, just like his dad, and enjoyed the thrills of life. He accepted Jesus Christ into his heart in 1974 in a Mexican jail cell. His life was sold out since. He even appeared on the 700 Club and got to give his testimony to Pat Robertson. William always raised his children to love the words of the Bible and he was a great teacher of those Words. He was a talented song writer and wrote one record, singing praises to Yeshua (Jesus) right before he started having children.
Early on William was a very successful salesman – first with oil and then with airtime for the radio station, WAOY 91.7 FM. Sales then turned into entrepreuneurship with Excel Fitness Center.
William also took his love of Yeshua to his art in a new style of progressive imagery, in which he would painstakingly paint scripture verses into beautiful pieces of art. William and Debra created the first contemporary Christian radio station on the Gulf Coast called Life 92.5 FM to help spread the Word. He was a truth seeker and had a passion for helping people to understand the laws and their punishments, so he created the National Crime and Punishment Learning Center in which he worked hand in hand with each state in the United States to construct charts with crimes and punishments. These would be delivered to every school, courthouse, and police station in the US. The family would always join together to stuff charts and letters in tubes to mail out, which wasn’t fun, but we were just happy to be together and help out.
However, his greatest work was when God called him to start Aleph Tav Scriptures ten years ago. In his passion to understand the words of Christ, he wrote several books and started a clothing line with lots of Aleph Tav accessories. AlephTavScriptures.com was started to give the reader a deeper understanding of Yeshua throughout the Bible. He had just finished his last book before God called him home. On March 23, 2023, William jumped on his favorite motorcycle, and with the wind in his hair, he rode right into Heaven.
In lieu of flowers, William would have loved for you to go to www.alephtavscriptures.com
