William Lee Brumfield, age 64, of Gulfport, MS died on Tuesday, February 9, 2021, in Gulfport, MS.
Lee was born in Pascagoula, MS on December 14, 1956, the second child of George Albert Brumfield, Sr. and Bobbie Breland Brumfield. Following graduation from Live Oak Academy in the eleventh grade, he skipped his senior year and headed to the University of South Alabama in Mobile to begin studying Accounting with his older brother, Al.
Upon graduating from South Alabama in 1977, he worked at Lerio Corporation in Mobile. In 1979 he started a business with his brother delivering R.C. Cola. Years later, they acquired the distributorship for Kentwood Spring Water. After they got out of the bottled-water business, he and his brother went on to do many other real-estate investment ventures.
While Lee loved business, he ultimately would want to be remembered for his love of God and the church, his family and love of people. His bright smile was a direct reflection of the light of Christ in his life. Lee loved his church, Crossroads Church of the Nazarene. Going to Sunday School and fellowshipping with other believers while studying God's word was the highlight of his week. Lee loved sports and was a fan of the Ole Miss Rebels. He enjoyed making trips to Oxford to watch the Rebels play on game day.
He was preceded in death by his father, George Albert Brumfield, Sr., and his mother, Bobbie Breland Brumfield.
Survivors include his brother and best friend, George Albert "Al" Brumfield, Jr. (Sandra), his nephew, George Albert Brumfield III (Anastasiya), his niece, Laura Lynn Brumfield and his beloved dog, Rebel.
Visitation will be on Saturday, February 13, from 10 am ~ 11 am, with an 11 am church service, all at the Crossroads Church of the Nazarene, 6150 Firestone Street, Ocean Springs, MS.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations be made to the Home of Grace or jesusfilm.org. Due to Covid-19, masks are recommended.
The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
