William Clyde Edelman passed away peacefully at his home in Biloxi, Mississippi on January 28, 2008.
Bill was born to Clyde Seth Edelman and Eula Pierman Edelman on December 13, 1919 in Seneca, Nebraska. He spent his early years in Seneca working on the family cattle ranch, becoming an accomplished horseman. His horseman skills came in handy as he served as both a horse trainer in the cavalry and a veterinarian. Bill was a decorated veteran of WWII. Later in his military career, he became a medic stationed in the South Pacific. In peacetime, he finished his military career as a meat inspector on the Gulf Coast where he met his future wife Edith. He made his home in Biloxi where he worked as a contractor for thirty years. Bill leaves behind his wife of 57 years Edith Cruthirds Edelman.
He is survived by his children Sheila Liberato and Lee Edelman of Biloxi, Mississippi; Terrie Wilson of Eugene, Oregon; Dorothy Page of Vancleave, Mississippi; Bill Poole, Shelby McVeay, and Roland Poole of Ocean Springs, Mississippi; his grandchildren Chris and Josh Fayard, Lisa and Tracy Edelman all of Biloxi, Mississippi; Don, Kirstie, and Lacie Wilson of Eugene, Oregon; Billy Edelman of College Park, Maryland; his brothers Dick and Marvin Edelman of Mullen, Nebraska; and his loyal companion “Daffy”. His brothers Bud Edelman of Maise, Kansas and Ted Edelman of Thedford, Nebraska, and grandchildren Eric Poole and Jimmie Fayard Jr., both of Biloxi, Mississippi, preceded him in death. Bill has a total of twenty-five grandchildren, forty-one great grandchildren, and nine great great grandchildren.
He was much loved and will be
sorely missed by his family and many friends. We love you Daddy and Paw Paw.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, February 2, 2008, 2:00 p.m. at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Woolmarket, Mississippi. Friends may visit one hour prior to Mass. Interment at D'Iberville Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Saint Mary’s Church in his memory.
