William G. "Bill" Wells, age 76, of Long Beach, died Wednesday, May 26, 2010 in Biloxi. He was born in Meridian and had been a resdient of Long Beach since 1998. He was Baptist. He retired from the U.S. Army in 1971 as CWO after over twenty years of service during the Korean War and Vietnam, receiving three Purple Hearts. He was a member of American Legion, DAV, VFW and was a Mason and Shriner.
Mr. Wells is survived by two daughters, Carol Beaman of Clinton, SC and Judith Laengerer-Wells of Inssbruck, Austria; four sons, Landy Rea Wells of Laurens, SC, Robert Wells of Raleigh, NC, William George Wells, Jr. of Laurens, SC, and Warren Wells of Brandon, MS; thirteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The funeral service is Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at 12:30 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport where friends may visit from 11:30 a.m. until the service. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery with military honors.
