Mr. William J. Gandy, 80, of Biloxi, MS, died Nov. 8, 2005, in Beaumont, Texas. He was returning to Biloxi after being a Katrina Evacuee to his son's home in Houston.
Bill was born in Oil City, LA February 28, 1925. He graduated from Salem High School and entered the U. S. Navy in 1943 where he served his country during WW II. His skills were used in business when he served the area in Biloxi as a TV technician. He and his wife were longtime members of Big Ridge Baptist Church in D'Iberville.
Bill was preceded in death by his son, Michael Dennis Gandy, of Biloxi and a brother, Eugene Gandy of Post, Texas.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Lois Elmore Gandy; son, David Gandy, of Houston, TX; daughter, Sharon Morgan, of Biloxi; brothers, Don Gandy of Virginia, Tex Gandy of Shreveport and a sister, Jan Wilson, of Silsbee, TX; eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and a special friend, Ron McBride, of Houston, TX. A special mention of his grandson, Lucas Morgan, who devoted himself totally to caring for his "Pop" during his last few months.
Funeral services will be held 1 p. m. Monday, November 14, 2005, at the Pass Road Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi where friends may call one hour before service time. Burial will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery.
