William John "Uncle Billy" Cook, 82, of Washington, D.C. died Sunday, May 21, 2006 in Washington, D.C. He was born in Havensville, KS and had been a resident of Gulfport for thirteen years before moving to Washington following Hurricane Katrina. He retired in 1963 from the U.S. Navy as a YNC after over 20 years of service. Following retirement he worked for Prudential Life and also sold Avon products.
He is survived by three nieces, Pamela O'Farrell of Aneheim, CA, Rethia Dailey of Murfreesboro, TN, Lethia Cuevas of Kiln; a nephew, William Alfred Saucier, Jr. of Kiln. He leaves many cousins and friends worldwide.
There will be a graveside service Friday, May 26, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. at Biloxi National Cemetery with full military honors.
