William "Mike" Lund, age 51, of D'Iberville passed away Monday morning surrounded by loving family in Singing River Hospital Ocean Springs.
Mike was born on April 7, 1964 in Monterey, California to Gene and Virgie Lund. He moved to the Gulf Coast as a sophomore in high school where he graduated from Biloxi High in 1982. He proceeded to attend college at Tulane, University of Southern Mississippi, and the University of Southern Alabama and then joined the military service in the United States Navy. Upon completion of his military service, he returned home to the Gulf Coast to raise his family. He worked in the sign industry for many years and was greatly respected as an admirable businessman. Mike loved everything science-fiction, classic rock, and anything to do with his three daughters. He enjoyed starting little projects around the house, including a small, albeit tacky, vegetable garden in the front lawn, building shelves for his daughters, completing his never ending list of honey-do's, and walking his beloved dog, Casper.
Mike is survived by his caring wife and best friend Kristy Lund, and loving daughters Chelsea, Samantha (Sammy), and Alex. He is also survived by his brother Frank Lund.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Captain Gene Lund and Virgie Lund (Palazzo).
Daddy,
May you finally get the rest you need. We love you.
Services will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2016 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church at 12pm. Friends may visit from 11-12pm. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
