William Morris "K.C." De Boever, Jr.

William Morris “K.C.” De Boever, Jr., died at the age of 84 in Biloxi Regional Medical Center on Sunday, January 20, 2013. K.C. was born June 30, 1928 in DeSoto, KS. He was a member of DeSoto, KS VFW Lodge #6654, DeSoto, KS, Masonic Lodge #40, DeSoto, KS where he was a 32nd Degree Mason, Elks Lodge #606 and the American Legion Post #33 both in Biloxi. K.C. was a U.S.A.F. veteran, serving in Korea and Vietnam, retiring in 1972. He was of the Methodist faith. K.C. was a devoted father, husband, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is preceded in death by his parents, Morris and Janette Baker De Boever of De Soto, KS; his baby sister; and his wife, Shirley Lambert De Boever. Survivors include his children, Janette De Boever-Smith of Flowood, MS, Bill De Boever, III of Ocean Springs, MS, Joe (JoAnn) De Boever of Long Beach, MS and Hollie (Steve) Gaffney of Ocean Springs, MS; his grandchildren, Mark (Lauren) Smith of Brandon, FL, Desiree Smith of Houston, TX, Diana Smith (A.J.) Boldon of Reston, VA, Mary Emma Smith of Hattiesburg, MS and Stevie Gaffney of Ocean Springs, MS; and great-granddaughter, Allison Smith of Brandon, FL. Bill’s family and friends feel blessed that he left this world in peace with family and friends beside him. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials be made to DeSoto VFW Post #6654, 33725 W. 84th St., DeSoto, KS 66018 or to Elks Lodge #606, 7078 Beach Blvd., Biloxi, MS 39530. Graveside services will be held at Biloxi National Cemetery on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
