Mr. William O. Furr, Sr., 75, of Vancleave, MS, died Saturday, May 21, 2011, in Ocean Springs.
Mr. Furr was born in Tylertown, MS and had been a lifelong resident of the coast. He was a U. S. Army Veteran of WW II and the Korean Conflict. He was a lifetime member of V.F.W. Post #2434 in Biloxi, the Biloxi Elks Lodge, and the American Legion Post 33.
Mr. Furr was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Mamie Furr, and two brothers, Gene Furr and Mason Furr, Sr. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy E. Furr of Vancleave; four daughters, Jodie Ramsey of Vancleave, Mamie Waltman of Gulfport, Tammy Spiers of D'Iberville and Karen Cole of Ocean Springs; four sons, William O. Furr, Jr. of D'Iberville, Kenneth Furr of Vancleave, David Mallett and Sidney Goings both of Biloxi; twenty five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at 1 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Avenue, in Biloxi where friends may visit from 11 a.m.until service time. Interment will follow in Antioch Cemetery.
