William "Bill" Levonne Tisbury Jr. went to be with his beloved Savior in the early hours of Friday, December 8th, 2023. Although he had many health problems and suffered a spinal cord injury earlier this year rendering him unable to walk or use his arms he passed peacefully while he was receiving treatment at the Veterans Hospital in Jackson, MS. Bill was 72 years old and spent the last 3 years of his life living with his son, Chris and his family.

He was born in San Antonio, TX on September 20, 1951 to William and Vera Tisbury. He had a big family and was always quick to welcome people into his life. He would love you like family from the start and never met a stranger.

Bill was a simple man and enjoyed simple things in life. Bill loved the Lord and reading the Bible. He loved his family and was always ready for a hug. There was nothing he loved more than taking people out to eat a good meal and his favorite was a hot breakfast. He was an Army veteran who served his country in Vietnam and was always quick to thank a soldier or fellow veteran for their service.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Levonne Tisbury Sr. and Vera Maureen Williams-Canady; his step-mother, Jo Ann Tisbury; and his sister, Vera Louise Jordan.

Bill is survived by his wife, Kelly; his son, Chris; his daughter-in-law, Erin; his siblings, Betty Ann Johnson, Geraldine Cummings, Sandra (Paul Jeane) Denise Tisbury, Curtis (Brandi) Wade Tisbury Sr., Dana (Willie) Renee Bassham, and will be forever cherished and remembered by his five grandchildren, Asher, Jace, Avery, Scarlet and Anna; and many beloved family and friends.

Bill's faith in Jesus was the one constant in his life. If he could use his final breath to give this world one last message it would echo that of the Apostle Paul in 1 Timothy 1:15, "This saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners."

A visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Sunday, December 17th with funeral services at 11:15am on Monday, December 18, 2023 with visitation starting at 10am all at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, Ocean Springs, MS. Burial will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
