William W. Butt

William W. "Bill" Butt, 68, of Biloxi, after a long battle with brain cancer went to be with the Lord on June 9, 2008, the day of his 45th wedding anniversary. Bill was born in Pocahontas, VA and had been a resident of Biloxi since 1965. He retired from Keesler A.F.B. after 20 years of service with the Air Force. He had worked with WLOX as an engineer for the past 30 years. Bill was a volunteer fireman with D'Iberville and West Jackson County and was also a licensed amateur radio operator since 1960. Bill loved music and had been actively involved with music programs for several churches on the coast, directing adult, youth, children and handbell choirs. He was an active member of Lemoyne Blvd. Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mary Butt, four half sisters and one half brother. He was a wonderful and loving husband, father and grandfather who will be sadly missed by his wife, Elizabeth L. "Libby" Butt of Biloxi, daughters, Connie (David) Thompson of Biloxi, Tanya "Punkin" (Earnie) Coffell of Gulfport, son, Timothy J. (Sung Hui Henry) Butt of Biloxi, half sister, Hattie Ann Stokes of Tennessee, brother, George (Sheila) Butt of Norfolk, VA. Survivors also include 5 grandchildren. Visitation is Thursday, June 12, 2008 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 13, 2008, at Lemoyne Blvd. Baptist Church where friends may visit one hour prior to service. Internment is at D'Iberville Memorial Park.
