William Warren Moore

Mr. William Warren Moore, age 92, went to be with the Lord on November 17, 2008 at his residence in Vancleave, Ms. He was born August 24, 1916 in Prichard, Ala. He retired from Ingalls Shipbuilding as a pipefitter at the age of 70. He loved his family, his church, his community, fishing and gardening, but most of all, he loved his Lord. He was preceded in death by his son, Gerald Lindsey Moore, his parents, James and Pearler Moore, one brother, Jamison Moore and 2 sisters, Elizabeth Kyte and Edith Zuiderhoek. He was the beloved husband of Lula Davis Moore, celebrating 69 years of marriage on his last birthday, and loving father of Linda Ann Moore (John) Ruffin, both of Vancleave. He was a special grandfather (Pa) to grandchildren: John William (Suzy) Ruffin, Vancleave, David Mark (Leslie) Ruffin, Ocean Springs, Matthew Steven (Hollie) Ruffin, Ocean Springs, Courtney LaShelle Moore and Crystal Gale Moore, both of Vancleave, great-grandfather to:John Brandon Ruffin, Vancleave, Madison Marie Ruffin, Davis Matthew Ruffin, Taylor Anne Ruffin, all of Ocean Springs, Leann (John) Perron, Tacoma, Wash., Stephanie Reynell Sharp, and T. J. Sharp, both of Ocean Springs, great-great grandfather to Leia Taylor Perron and Claren Nathan Perron of Tacoma, Wash. Mr. Moore is also survived by two sisters: Mignonne Smith, Chickasaw, Ala. and Pat Wickline, Fairhope, Ala. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2008 at the First Baptist Church Vancleave. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. with the service beginning at 12:00. Burial will be at the cemetery on Jim Ramsey Road immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Building Fund at First Baptist Church Vancleave in memory of Mr. Moore. Pallbearers include: John William Ruffin, David Mark Ruffin, Matthew Steven Ruffin, John Brandon Ruffin, Keith Cowart, Ben Hagood, Randy McKee and Mac Vaughn. Honorary pallbearers will be Mr. Moores Senior Mens Sunday School Class at FBCV. Micah 6:8 - "He has shown you, O Man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of You" To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God." This is how he lived his long life. The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
