Master Sergeant Willie A. Clendenon, 89, passed away August 4, 2008 after a long illness. Mr. Clendenon was a long time resident of Gulfport, MS. He was born in McMinnville, TN. The former Jacksonian served in the U. S. Army for 30 years and was in Japan during the occupation of Japan and Korea. He was a distinguished and decorated Army soldier. After retiring from the Army, he worked in the oil industry for over twenty years.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of sixty-five years, Maidie V. Clendenon.
He is survived by his sister, Pauline Johnson; sons, William, Arsie and Jim Clendenon; daughter, Linda Kadue; 13 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren; beloved niece, Wilma Clack and friend, Debbie Clack.
Graveside Services will be held at the Biloxi National Cemetery on Thursday, August 7, 2008 at 10:00 am with full military honors.
