Willis "Bill" R. Budnick

Willis R. (“Bill”) Budnick peacefully ascended to the arms of his Lord on August 7, 2023.  Bill was born in Wayne County, Michigan, on September 24, 1939, to Ralph and Aeza Budnick.  Bill developed a lifelong love of motorcycles and joined the U.S. Air Force while in Omaha, Nebraska, in 1962 and was honorably discharged in February of 1964.  He began both a lifelong career in accounting and a lifelong love of the Word of God, resulting in a familiar picture of a man with a Bible in one hand and a pocket full of pens in his shirt pocket.  Bill rode his motorcycle all over the country, watched uncountable episodes of Walker Texas Ranger, cleaned his plate every meal, and spent decades administering to the spiritual needs of the less fortunate in Smith Park, Jackson, Mississippi.  He loved old timey gospel music.  He passed peacefully in his sleep at the VA Home in Collins, Mississippi.

Bill is survived by his wife of 21 years, Ginger Stevens Budnick of Brandon, MS; his daughters, Belinda Mendez of Belton, TX and Bobbie Morgan of Laurel, MS; his son, Willis (Billy) Budnick, Jr., of Ocean Springs, MS; his brother, Tom Budnick of Hampton, Nebraska; eight grandkids; eight great grandkids; and numerous loving step-children, step-grands and step-great grands.

A funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Monday, August 14, 2023 at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home. Friends are invited to visit from 12 pm to 1 pm. Interment will be at D’Iberville Memorial Park.
