Ximena McCarthy

Ximena Loreto (Olavarria) McCarthy, Manny or Piru to those who knew her. She was 57 years old, and lived in Ocean springs. She passed into the arms and heart of God in Jackson, MS, on September 2, 2024. She passed quietly with all the love in this world.

She was born in Valparaiso, Chile on November 12, 1966. Born to Manuel Olavarria and Isabel Malatesta. She attended MGCCC for her associates in respiratory therapy. She had served God taking care of his babies, working in the NICU for 25 years, helping save hundreds of babies. She was also a loving mother to her children and a blessing to her husband. Her passions were fishing, riding the scooter, playing tennis, gardening, and devoting time to her friends, family, and profession. She loved Ocean Springs and would bring a smile to everyone, making each moment brighter.

Ximena was preceded in death by her father, Manuel L. Olavarria.

She is survived by her mother, Isabel Olavarria; her loving husband, John “Jackie” Francis McCarthy; her children, John Thomas Manuel McCarthy and Karla Marie Isabel McCarthy; and her brother, Manuel Olavarria Malatesta.

A memorial service will be held at 1pm on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, Ocean Springs. Friends may visit one hour prior.
