Yvonne P. Stanfield

Yvonne P. Stanfield, 92, a citizen of Belgium and longtime resident of Ocean Springs, MS passed away on Monday, June 17, 2024 in Ocean Springs.

Mrs. Stanfield was a strong woman who gained her strength after surviving the bombings as a teenage girl in Brussels, Belgium during WWII. She met and married the love of her life, Tommy Stanfield during his assignment to Europe. She followed him all through his military career and then returned back to Brussels until 1990 when they returned to the United States to be near her daughter.

Mrs. Stanfield enjoyed her outings with the MS Gulf Coast Corvette Club and the Dream Program. She was loving and caring and everyone that knew her loved her and her beautiful smile.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Tommy Stanfield; her parents, Charles and Robertine Waterincks Francois; and her sister, Elisabeth Francois.

Mrs. Stanfield’s survivors include her son, Eddie (Leanne) Stanfield; her daughter, Cherie (Robert) Auger; her grandchildren, Tony DeRosa, Magali Stanfield, Anne Marie Auger, Bobby Auger and Jonathan (Seth Aborqui) Baxter; her great-grandchildren, Marco Ceccarini, Sinan Cinemre, Tristan Auger and Kennedy Sowers.

The family wishes to express a special thanks to Saad Healthcare, especially Sue, Lisa, Mamie and Shannon.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church on Monday, June 24, 2024 at 12:00 pm. Friends may visit from 11:00 am until Mass time. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
