Mrs. Zelma Florence Dorroh, age 74, of Austin, TX., died Saturday, October 8, 2005, in Austin, TX.
Mrs. Dorroh was preceded in death by her parents, Henry F. and Florence Kent McPherson. She is survived by her husband, Will Edwin Dorroh, Jr. of Austin, TX., daughter, Leigh Michele Hilliard, and husband, Michael, of Austin, TX., two sons, Brian Edwin Dorroh of Dallas, TX., and Craig Frederick Dorroh, and wife, Cynthia, of Denver, CO., sister, Rona Davis Medhurst of Durban, South Africa, and a granddaughter, Faith Michele Hilliard of Austin, TX.
Mrs. Dorroh was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, and was a resident of Littleton, CO., for thirty years. She was educated and trained as a bookkeeper and became a CPA in the Republic of South Africa, working for several banks and a whaling company during her career there. Although after her marriage she was primarily a "homemaker", she worked in the library of the elementary school in Littleton, CO., for some 15 years.
Mrs. Dorrah was also very active in, and president for several terms of the Parent Teachers Organization. She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church and taught Sunday School in the Littleton (Colorado) UMC for many years. Her family was the most important thing in her life, first her own children and then later her grandchild. Her other "loves" were reading, gardening and cooking along with music and travel.
On Thursday, October 13, 2005, there will be a 10 AM Memorial Service at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home.
